Well, I see someone is interested in my opinions. You join a long list of people that derive humor, guidance and share the same views as myself.

As most of you know, I have designed a webpage to poke fun at the new breed of hams that are nothing more than CB'ers with a call sign. Listen to any repeater. The repeaters around here even come with 'SmokeyReports'. Weather nets on the local level are nothing more than on air club meetings. Outsiders are unwelcome.

Wasted vanity calls on paper upgrades. 5 wpm extra's that have no clue . Why did it all go bad ? The only true vanity call now is what the FCC issued to you when you were a *novice.

In steps W5YI and NCI...actually one in the same. Talk about a conflict of interest. Whoever has the money gets the upgrades. What we have now is a band or renegade 11 meter fools running all over the bands. They had no respect for that band, now they operate out of their privileges here.

Everybody wants to mod their radios to operate out of band. Listen some time. We have kilocycle cops reminding us to ID and telling us its against the 'rules' to discuss religion, politics or say the letters FCC.

Groups like ARES and RACES that were once respected, are now jokes. Leadership on most levels is nonexistant.

Even the sanctity of simplex on 2m has been violated by idiots. 146.58 has seen No-Coders setting up repeaters and thumbing their nose at complainers. Where does it stop ? Does it ever stop ? Is this the end of amateur radio as was practiced by our earlier predecessors ?  Tradition is dead because of the new breed.

Take a stand. Stand up and say NO to the easy way. Keep the tradition alive.
