My name is DonkBoy. I prefer to be known as a white hat, but everybody has their own opinion. I've been involved with computers since sometime in the early 80's, starting with a Radio Shack Color Computer (CoCo) 1( The grey case). Thinking I needed to be compatable, I moved to a C-64. Cool machine, but not near the power of the CoCo. XT's with Dos 3.3 was the next move and the rest is legend.
I've messed with operating systems just for the hell of it for as long as I recall, cause there wasn't much decent software available early on. Reverse engineered is probably more accurate.
I've even operated main frames , IBM 4381, 4331 and Mini's like the system 36 and 38. But my love was always with the PC's . I was a network GOD for an electronics think tank and also programmed some robotics. Yep, I'm even a degreed programmer. Can you say QUALIFIED ?
Ran a few phone BBS's. That was boring. I Eventually graduated to a packet radio BBS for about 7 years under my Ham Radio callsign KK9G. Not too bad,I rven taught a phone company guy about X25 and even had an interview with a Popular Communications Magazine (PopCom) writer and a TV station in Evansville Indiana.
I learned way more than I started out to. I was so obcessed, I even zerox'ed IBM main frame tech & operation manuals, till I got my own set. Yea, I was ready.
But somewhere along the way, I got a civic side and went to work for the cops. I was in communications at the Greenwood Indiana Police Dept; which meant I could play with the cop computers and networks too. That lasted awhile, but still not what I wanted to be doing. I did some consulting on hackers to the cops and claim one bust . That was cool. I still do underground consulting but for the other side.
This website is actually an online bookmark for my use, but has gained some popularity with others. It's main purpose was to have available certain types of information that was available in the field. Although most of the info is generally available elsewhere on the net, I needed it without the hassle of searching for it everytime.
As newer problems arise on the Internet, the more specific pages there will be. I created the domain to house the over 10m of data without the bother of free websites. My usage online daily usually exceeds 14-18 hours.
Officially, I'm over 60 and retired, so I take no money for my service. But I still maintain full CEO / President powers with an internet research firm. Since then :
